COVID-19 Prayer Points

Our Heavenly Father, please protect us from COVID-19—if it be your will. And please make us a blessing to others during this pandemic, especially as we testify to the hope of Jesus Christ within us. We pray this because we confess that you are both powerful and loving.

“Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.” (Psalm. 91:3-7)

“Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.” (Psalm 57:1)

However, mission leaders need to do more than just identify characteristic verbs for their leadership task—they also also need to continually refine the task. Read More…

Qualitative Missionary Success

According to a colleague’s recent newsletter, after S-san finished elementary school she stopped attending worship services and Sunday school led by missionaries at their nearby home. Reading between the lines, she fell prey to the busyness of life in Japan and the pressure to conform to the materialistic values of animistic Buddhist Japanese society. As an adult she neglected and repressed the work God had done in her heart during her formative years as a child.

But sixty years later her husband came down with a terminal illness, requiring that she take on the role of primary care giver.

Reaching Beyond Our Borders

Our goal is to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel, and to see new believers enfolded into new or existing churches where they can be lovingly nurtured and discipled to become obedient followers of Christ.

So says Dave Penner, Director of EFC of Canada Mission. Read More…
